Record of Invention

Record the following information. Have it reviewed by preferably two or more witnesses who can understand what they read and could testify as to the contents of your record of invention.

A useful adjunct to this process is to keep a log book, preferably with bound sequentially numbered pages, in which you maintain a daily journal of your inventive activities and which is reviewed and witnessed frequently by someone who can testify that they read and understood what was contained in the logbook.

• PRIOR SOLUTIONS
  • Describe previous attempts to solve the problem (in a few paragaphs). Drawings, sketches and photographs can be helpful.
• PLACES YOU SEARCHED FOR SOLUTIONS (and search results)
  • Describe previous attempts to solve the problem (in a few paragaphs). Drawings, sketches and photographs can be helpful.
• DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR IDEA OR CONCEPT
  • Describe your idea or concept in as many words and pages as it takes to tell someone familiar with the technology. Drawings, sketches and photographs can be helpful.
• ADVANTAGES OF YOUR IDEA OR CONCEPT
  • Describe the principal advantages of your solution to the problem in as many words and pages as it takes.
